One Mistake Caused This Mess
My son has a unique talent for music. Ever since he was a little baby, he had this rhythm that was unmatched. He really wanted to learn how to play the piano so I decided to buy him one. That was the start of everything. I should have read a digital piano review or something, but I didn’t and had to pay the price dearly.
My son learned from an unweighted digital piano. He practiced hard and was able to play some songs rather well relatively quickly. However, the instructor and other pianists did not like it one bit. They complained that digital pianos were too limiting and that he needed to learn from an acoustic piano. We took their advice.
I sold the digital piano and bought my son an acoustic piano. I wish I didn’t. He lost his confidence. The acoustic piano is a completely different instrument, and he should have learned from that first. Because he didn’t, he developed these nasty habits that could not be fixed. He couldn’t play the piano well because of me.
I made a mistake, and my son paid dearly for it. Rather than getting an unweighted digital piano, I should have done some research and bought him an acoustic piano. Even a weighted digital piano would have sufficed.
